Calibrachoa, Million Bells, Superbells
Calibrachoa hybrid 'Superbells Evening Star'
- Trailing habit
- Gorgeous flowers
- Blooms all season
- Great for containers
Calibrachoa hybrid 'Superbells Evening Star' displays one of the most unusual flower colors ever! Lovely lavender flowers feature a yellow star pattern and deep purple throat - the small petunia-like flowers will stop you in your tracks! Blooms continuously all summer and fall. Calibrachoa is best in containers including hanging baskets where it can display its fabulous trailing habit. Keeping plants too wet can lead to root rot diseases. Allow the top of the soil to dry before watering again. Self-cleaning, no deadheading necessary.
Growing Tips
Calibrachoas are ph sensitive and need a well-draining soil. Typical garden soils are not acidic enough to keep Calibrachoas from having stunted, yellow growth. They perform best in a good quality potting soil. For beds with typical garden soils we recommend the similar looking "Littletunia" or "Supertunia Charm" series of Petunias, which are not so ph sensitive. If you have problems with budworms (blooms and buds getting chewed away) we recommend Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew. It's safe enough to be used for organic growing, and we have seen excellent results.
